Warren County, Kentucky Inmate Search

An inmate search is simply a way to find information about people held in the county jail. In Warren County, different law enforcement agencies make arrests, including the sheriff’s office, Bowling Green Police Department, and the police departments in Smith Grove and Woodburn. However, these agencies are not responsible for the detention of inmates or keeping their records.

Detention is handled by the Warren Regional Jail, which operates under the county jailer. Records of adult inmates are available to the public and can be accessed through the regional jail’s official channels.

Warren County is also home to a detention facility for minors: the Warren Regional Juvenile Detention Center. This facility is managed by the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, a division under the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.

A Warren County inmate search typically displays an inmate’s charges, bond information, and other related details.

How to Find an Inmate in Warren County Jail

The Warren County Regional Jail provides access to inmate information online, in person, or by mail, as authorized in KRS 61.870 to 61.884, which permits the inspection and copying of jail records.

Online access is provided via an official search tool (the county’s jail or inmate roster), enabling inquirers to view the records without visiting the facility in person or submitting a formal request. As long as one has internet access, the roster can be reviewed at any time, except during scheduled maintenance. Online searches are free of charge.

In-person access requires contacting or visiting the jail during business hours to receive assistance from staff.

An individual can also request records by mail by completing an Open Records Request Form and sending it to the jail. The records custodian will respond with copies of the requested records or information regarding their availability. Fees may apply for copies.

How to Send Money to an Inmate in Warren County Regional Jail

The Warren County Regional Jail contracts with third-party service providers to enable friends and family to send money to inmates. These services provide online payment solutions for depositing funds into an inmate’s account. The process depends on the preferred provider. However, a credit or debit card is the typical payment method, and a user account will be necessary to initiate the process.

To correctly fund a Warren County jail inmate’s account, the depositor will need the facility ID (242101) and the inmate’s name and ID. Family or friends can visit any provider’s website to review their terms and choose the option that best suits them.

One can also contact the jail directly to ask about other available ways to send money to an inmate.

Inmate Search by Jail Facility

Warren County has an adult detention center (Warren County Regional Jail) and a juvenile detention center. These facilities are run by different agencies, and their records are kept separate.

For Warren County adult inmates, records are kept by the Regional Jail. The jail’s online roster can be searched for such records. Furthermore, direct inquiries can be made in person, by phone, or by making a public records request.

For juvenile detention records, such documents are not open to the public. The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice can be contacted directly to request information, but the inquirer must be legally authorized, such as a parent, guardian, or authorized court official, to receive information about a juvenile in custody.

Warren County Visitation Rules and Schedules

The Warren County Regional Jail works with a third-party provider to offer on-site and off-site (remote) video visits for inmates and their family and friends. Remote visits cost $7.95 for every 20 minutes. On-site visits are free.

To visit, individuals must sign up on the provider’s website and upload a photo and a valid state-issued ID. All visits, whether on-site or remote, must be booked in advance.

Inmates can also receive visits from approved clergy or their lawyers. These visits follow the same steps as social visits. Visits with family and friends may be recorded, but calls with lawyers are not recorded.

Prospective visitors can find instructions for signing up and using the visitation service on the Warren County jail’s Visitation website.

Rules for visits include

  • Participants must remain seated during sessions
  • Appropriate clothing must be worn.
  • No eating is allowed during visits.
  • Only approved, logged-in visitors can join.
  • Visitors under the influence of drugs will be denied visiting privileges.
  • Visitors must be at least 18 years old or come with a parent or legal guardian.

The VisitationSchedule is available on the Warren County Regional Jail’s website.

Mailing and Commissary Information

Mail can be sent to a Warren County jail inmate as either personal or legal correspondence.

Personal mail (pictures, drawings, letters) is not sent directly to the jail. It is processed through the jail’s digital service provider (seeaddress), opened and inspected, then scanned and sent to the inmate electronically.

Legal mail is handled differently. It must be sent directly to the jail facility and is inspected in the inmate’s presence.

All mail must be properly addressed and include the sender’s name and return address. Mail without this information will be returned. Packages, certified mail, checks, and money orders are not accepted, and mail that cannot be scanned (including items that exceed the size limit) will be returned.
